“Wednesday co-op” was a concert series in August, 2002.  It was a series similar to Bluebird North or Jason Collett’s “Radio Mondays”, except that the featured musicians were fewer, and they’d rehearse the week before; less of a jam, more of an instant band.

Peter Mohideen, a housemate at the time, designed these clip-art posters, which at the time I thought were cute and tacky, but now seem oddly prescient?

The series was only modestly attended.  We set it up at Lounge 88 because they had a piano; the owner didn’t want to go beyond the first month, so it was canned.

The first night featured Bry Webb of Constantines, who played at least one song that appeared on his current record on Idee Fixe records (“Undertaker”).  Michael Holt played some songs that would appear on his Pilot Single LP.  I played guitar and sang a set of Polite Album songs.

I don’t remember anything else about the night except Tyler Clarke Burke and Leslie Feist were there.  I congratulated Leslie on her most recent album “Monarch”.  That’s all I remember, it was a while ago.

This was an early performance by The Dirty Projectors in Toronto.  Dave played solo, I believe; I was coming down with a flu and had to leave early.  Singing Saw Shadow Show was led by James Anderson.  Total War was a pre-Vampire Weekend thing, Ezra was in it, I don’t remember who else, it was a shredder’s band.  This was Final Fantasy’s fourth show, and the first one for which I had an octave pedal.

I made the shitty poster, it was sprayed in gold and blue.  I have a color version but it’s 11x17.
